The new .uk domain is a shorter and sharper and puts the emphasis firmly on your website or email name – exactly where it should be. It is the newest product in the UK Domain Family. The domain .co.uk is still staying, along with .org.uk, .me.uk and all the other domains ending in .uk that currently exist.

.co.uk - The No. 1 domain for British Business

Prosperous, trusted and populated with brilliant businesses, you're in good company with .co.uk

.org.uk - For your cause

It's all in the name: with a .org.uk address, you'll instantly distinguish your site as non commercial, and champion your cause or community.

.me.uk - A place for you

Your idea, your story, your adventure. Whatever you want to make of it .me.uk is the place for you.

I'm an existing customer, how does this affect me?

For the majority of you with existing .co.uk domain names, you will automatically get first right to your equivalent .uk domain up until 10 June 2019 as long as your domain remains registered. Therefore you can check whether you have the rights to the new .uk by using our Rights lookup tool

If you decide not to register the new .uk equivalent domain before 10 June 2019, it will then become available for someone else to register, but your existing domain will of course still be yours as long as it remains registered to you.

If at any time you decide not to renew your existing domain, the .uk equivalent will automatically become available for someone else to register.
